Koala Survey Results – Dorrigo

Apr 16 @ 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm

Two koalas in tree

We’ve been using trained wildlife detection dogs to help us collect Koala scats across this region. Those scats, once analysed at a laboratory, tell us which animal deposited them and its disease status. We are able then to understand how local Koalas are related to each other, and also which landscape corridors they use to move across the landscape.
In this workshop, we will discuss what we have learned about Koalas in your area, where they live and what routes they are using to find mates and feeding areas.

This event is supported through a partnership between the Great Eastern Ranges and the World Wide Fund for Nature-Australia as part of a broader bushfire recovery effort.
